CONCEPTUAL IDEA & BACKGROUND
This track is the first single of the 2024 release cycle, following the Purpose EP as the project for February. Into black describes the coming of winter, as the coldest weather closes in and the nights get longer and longer.
Into black is mainly inspired by a short phase of musical interest in black metal. This music style is usually much more focussed around fast paced tremolo picked riffs, heavy blast beats layered by high pitched screeching vocals.
The song starts with a nod to the low-fidelty that black metal usually leans towards. Drums concentrate on a polyrhythm ride groove while the cold guitar layer builds suspense, evolving to the full chorus section.
Another section worth mentioning is the mid-song groove switch to big chords, supported by blast beats: another black metal staple
